With more than 100 years experience growing fruit, fruit quality is at the foundation of our business. Apart from our growing and handling procedures being registered and audited by Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points quality standards, our philosophy is to match our quality with our customer's requirements, whether that is the high standards set by supermarkets or the volume needs of fruit processors.

Turnbull Brothers was one of the first orchards in the world to commercially grow fruit on the Tatura trellis system back in the early1980s. The system maximises light into the tree which results in optimum colour, size and flavour.

Special attention is given to our export and supermarket varieties. For pears including Packhams, Williams and Bosc, apples Pink Lady, Gala and Granny Smith and stone fruit including yellow flesh and sub acid varieties including our focus is on optimising skin quality, size, colour and flavour.

Maximising size and firmness is a priority for growing cherries. The cold chain is fundamental to cherry quality, therefore we hydro-cool our cherries and pay particular attention to the logistics chain from growing the fruit to reaching the customer.

Underpining long-term success in growing the best varieties. For example the stonefruit and cherries, varieties with maximum colour and flavour, must be combined with good shipping properties.

Improvement to our products and procedures is a constant.
